The Summit Structure

The 2-Day U.S.-Africa Trade and Investment Global Summit & Expo is an action-based business and investment-pitching forum; intense trade conversations will be between U.S. financial/Investment participants, technical experts and African business attendees. Prior to summit dates, African business participants will send in synopsis and business proposals in advance. Summit format seeks pragmatic solutions and involves the following:

Materials

The materials will also be circulated before and after the summit to investors base. Presentations must be submitted ahead.

Conference

Focused well-researched presentations from participants from Africa and the United States on Trade and Investment opportunities across the aisle.

Exhibition of Products/Services

Participants will have the opportunity to display their products / services, as well as answer questions from visitors / other participants. Exhibitors will be limited, and will be allocated on first come-first served basis.

Gala Night (Dinner and Award Presentations)

The gala night on Day 2 (evening event) will provide an opportunity to recognize, acknowledge, and reward those individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves in the commercial, economic, and diplomatic world of both Africa and USA.

One-on-one Private Meetings (B2B)

Private rooms will be made available (with prior arrangement) to organizations that require this facility.

Interactive Session

The Summit will provide time for delegates/visitors to interact with each other and also with key executives/officials who are present.

Company Visit / City Tour

A pre-arranged company visit/city tour will be available on the last day of the summit. Spaces are limited and Full VIP registration is encouraged.

Pitching Sessions

Friday afternoon will be dedicated for presentation and pitching of business projects in identified sectors to panel of investors. African and American business persons will pitch ideas to key financiers and investors, business plans will be examined by potentially interested financial and technical partners, summit conveners will activate an accelerated process via initial commitment by both parties with all such viable businesses.

Network Spaces

There will be available networking spaces, meeting spaces offering participants the opportunity to engage in formal and informal dialogue

Opportunity to network with U.S. firms

Attending business facilitators will have the opportunity to network with U.S. firms to boost their network in order to convey to business entities and potential investors the opportunities, processes, and mechanisms that support their business decisions and investments.

EXPECTED OUTPUTS AND OUTCOMES

The outputs of the Summit are expected to include:

  1. Deals Closed: The summit will be a platform to connect African and American businesses, create B2B opportunities where MoU’s and deals are expected to germinate. The deals identified and closed at the Summit will be tracked and shared with all participants
  2. Summit Report: A summary of key findings and policy recommendations distilled from Summit papers and keynote speeches.
  3. The proceedings of the Summit, incorporating relevant comments and feedback from peer review and Summit participants, may be published after the Summit.
  4. Presentation of the summit Compendium will be made to All African governments, U.S. Commercial Service as well as other identified stakeholders.
  5. dedicated web portal will be created to track results of the Summit, making further connections, offering participants business advisory services for one year.
